At our Preconference a couple of years ago, we looked at the doctrine of creation through a microscope, focusing almost exclusively on the beginning of the universe, its origin, and specifically whether the Bible mandates a certain age of the universe. They still keep their individual personalities, and that just makes me so happy.Some might wonder why we address the doctrine of creation again. One of them doesn’t need to become a wilting flower or a sappy romantic just to get the pairing together. And the way he and Tony interact is so amazing. I love how Steve is portrayed! He’s innocent, and still adapting to his new life, but without being written as stupid or incompetent. Even the side characters are perfectly written. Meanwhile, Tony is trying to make his mark on history by being the man who finally drove Nick Fury over the edge.Ĭomments: Some of the best characterizations I’ve ever read in a fic - and not just for Tony and Steve. He meets a Norse God, joins a superhero team, and feels terribly awkward about the whole monument at Arlington he's rendered obsolete by not being dead. He doesn't think much of it, and it's dubious about him.
And there is enough fluff and romance to keep any shipper happy. There are some graphic descriptions of past violence and PTSD, so be careful if those trigger you. Slowly Jake finds that he's not the only one who's a little bit broken, but just because he is doesn't mean he can't live life day by day, and those days are better with Cougar at his side.Ĭomments: One of those fics where even 100k doesn't seem like enough, and you could keep reading it forever.
Getting under Jake's skin seems to be another specialty of his. Cougar is well versed in the art of fighting, but that isn't the only thing he's excellent at. When Jake gets into an altercation with that instructor, he can admit that he may have bitten off a bit more than he can chew. When he meets her instructor, he is far from impressed by the stoic “Cougar”-if that's even his real name. When Jake's niece starts taking self-defense classes, Jake is skeptical.
He spends his days working in a quiet library, his nights consulting for a security firm, and any free time spoiling his ten year old niece. Jake's been out of the Army for six years, piecing his life back together after nearly dying in an incident he doesn't talk about.
